We are currently seeking a Finance and Business Analyst with strong
Finance, Project Management, and IT skills to join our team. Due to
the significant growth of the organisation over the past three years,
a Business and Finance Analyst is now required to ensure that all data
and transactions are properly maintained on our operating systems and
to provide timely analysis of data to facilitate an evidence-based
decision making process.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The main purpose of the role is to ensure that all financial
transactions and supporting information is processed and maintained on
our operating system in an accurate and timely manner, that ?big
data? is properly analysed to identify developing trends to better
inform decision making, and to lead on key operations and finance
analysis projects, as required.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
FINANCE & OPERATIONS:
* Maintaining all financial transactions on the operating System,
with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
* Reporting donations and grants year to date against budget through
dashboard
* Ensuring that all donor transaction records on the operating
system are accurate and kept up to date and are in line with donor
agreements.
* Manage and respond to all queries related to the operating system
and providing support to system users throughout the organisation.
* Working with Finance Team to reconcile all funds in the operating
system to management accounts and statutory financial statements.
* To provide accurate account statements to GDC for onward
transmission to donors twice yearly
* Responsible for reconciling specific funds and reporting to
donors.
* Maintain all transactions and data fields in accordance with
compliance guidelines (AML & GDPR) and performing internal audit
checks on a systematic basis to verify data accuracy.
* Managing purchase orders for procurement purposes as required.
* Report to the CFO and Financial Controller as required.
* Collaborate on ad hoc projects with the Compliance Manager and IT
Manager, as required.
* Managing and responding to all system related queries from the
Senior Leadership Team.
* Managing the preparation and submission of tax claims and refunds.
* General finance and administration duties as required.
BUSINESS ANALYSIST
* Identifying likely trends based on an analyse of structured,
semi-structured and unstructured data to facilitate evidence-based
decision making.
* Researching and analysing grant making data and reporting
conclusions to the grant executive team to facilitate strategic grant
making.
* Researching and analysing donor data and behaviours, establish
future trends, and reporting conclusions to the donor acquisition team
to assist them in identifying new leads.
* Preparation of analytical review including a variance explanation.
* Ability to analyse processes, procedures, systems, and structures
that are in place and to evaluate their performance, effectiveness,
and efficiency, using ?As Is? and ?To Be? mapping.
* Other ad hoc data analysis projects as required.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT & IT
* Project manage all finance related data analysis and research
projects, from initiation to final reporting stage.
* Collaborate with the IT Manager on the development and design of a
new operating system.
* Collaborate on the implementation of the new operating system with
a view to taking over full responsibility for maintaining the
integrity of all financial transactions going forward.
* Be responsible for and manage the integrity of the operating
system (both existing and new).
* Capture and track feedback from the end users for future
application and analytics design and provide recommendations in
developing business solutions for business stakeholders.
* Liaise with 3rd party service providers as required (to put
necessary support services in place) and assist in driving forward
improvements throughout the organisation
EXPERIENCE:
A relevant academic and/or professional qualification
* 3rd level qualification in Business & Finance / Accountancy
qualification.
* Level 6 or higher qualification in Project Management would be a
distinct advantage.
* Previous experience working with operating systems (Salesforce /
Microsoft Dynamics)
* Previous experience working collaboratively in a finance team.
* Previous experience in a ?data analytics? role an advantage.
* Excellent IT Skills with an interest in developing your expertise
further.
* Ability to analyse data, identify developing trends, and present
reports to stakeholders at all levels.
* Proven track record of supporting and assisting other users of an
operating system
